Trewartha vs. Andrewartha

The surnames Trewartha and Andrewartha, while distinct in a great many records, have the same historical origin and seem to be used interchangeably.

There are several web sites which discuss the origin of Cornish names, including the "wartha" suffix. For the purposes of searching, this data set will use whichever form of the name is attached to a particular piece of source material, but it should be known that the names are apparently interchangeable, at least during the 17th and early 18th centuries.
